Overview
The ZTE Zephyr Z752C is a 4-inch device that comes running Android 4.4 KitKat. It's an entry level device that is very powerful operating on a dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The ZTE Zephyr Z752C is a CDMA phone activated on the Verizon network, so depending on where you live, you need to check that you have Verizon cell towers/coverage in your home area before making an order. So, let's kick off our review by finding out what you expect to find in the box.

Unboxing
The ZTE Zephyr Z752C is a prepaid smartphone that you can order from Straight Talk. The purchase box includes the ZTE Zephyr Z752C, battery, wall adapter charger, standard USB cable, activation card, services guide and a quick reference guide.

Design
The ZTE Zephyr Z752C is a very compact device. It's 4-inch in size; meaning perfect for one handed operation, and still large enough that you will see items on the screen clearly.
The exterior layout is as you would expect from an entry-level device. The left edge has the charging port as well as the volume rockers while the right edge has no buttons whatsoever. The top edge has the headphone jack as well as the power button. The bottom edge is also flat with no buttons.
On the front, we have the 4-inch display. The upper part of the display has the mouthpiece as well as the front facing camera. The lower part of the screen has the physical navigation buttons. The arrangement is such that; the back navigation button sits on the left, the home button at the center, and the recent apps button on the right. Even though they are not the floating navigation buttons like in later Android versions, they are backlit, so you won't struggle to see in the dark.
On to a tour of the back; the back cover is rubberized hence a nice feeling in the palm. The rear camera with the LED flash sits on the upper part of the back cover, and the lower part hosts the speaker. The back cover is removable, revealing the battery compartment, and SIM and microSD slots.

Camera
The ZTE Zephyr Z752C has a 5MP back camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. The back camera has a LED flash so taking pictures in the dark won't be a problem. This being an entry level phone, a few features had to be compromised like the front camera, but with good lighting, it takes nice selfies, and it can serve well in video calling.
I used the back camera mostly, and it includes some nice features. Apart from the LED flash, it has autofocus and touch focus. It records video at a resolution of 800x480 pixels which is pretty good for a phone in this price line. You can also change color effect, scene mode, and turn on geotagging. For those who love to experiment more with cameras, there's a manual mode where you can change the ISO level, white balance, exposure time, contrast, saturation, and sharpness.

Display
The display on the ZTE Zephyr Z752C is a compact 4-inch TFT screen which is very fast in response. It's a nice size if you want to reach all points on the screen while operating with just one hand. With a resolution of 480x800 pixels, I found this to be nice for a phone in the lowest entry-level. The screen brightness is moderate. Indoors, it's great, pictures and videos show up nicely. However, it might grow a little dim in bright sunlight, but that's a bargain for entry-level devices.

Battery
The battery capacity on the ZTE Zephyr Z752C is 1650mAh. The battery gives you a talk time of 10 hours and a standby time of 10 days. Since the screen is not as big, it won't put much strain on the battery and can actually take you through a full working day of normal operations. Intensive operations especially those involving consistent internet access like video streaming or live Google maps navigation put much strain on the battery and will definitely drain it faster. With the ZTE Zephyr, you are looking at about 6hrs of video streaming which is not a short period actually.

Storage
The ZTE Zephyr Z752C ships with an internal storage of 4GB which is impressive given most phones in this line have less than 2GB. The good thing about the ZTE Zephyr is that it has a microSD card slot that can support an external memory card of up to 32GB. You can always upgrade from the 4GB storage and have more ample space to store your songs, apps, photos, and videos.

Performance
The performance of the ZTE Zephyr Z752C is average. It ships running Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System, which though not the latest version, supports most apps on the playstore. The ZTE Zephyr is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. I found the RAM to be sufficient given the operations this phone can handle. You find most phones in this price range to have like 512MB of RAM, which is half the RAM on the ZTE Zephyr.
Regarding performance, I didn't find any issue. Considering this is a dual-core processor, it can handle most operations well. This being a 3G enabled device, internet load speeds are great. You won't experience buffering on YouTube if you are within your Wireless data plan (more on this later in the review)
The phone comes installed with all the necessary apps including Google apps like Gmail, Hangouts, YouTube, Maps, Photos, Google Plus. The Google play application is also loaded, so you can install more apps from Play Store, of course, after signing in.
The phone includes other typical features like Bluetooth 4.0, Hearing Aid Compatibility, Wi-Fi, GPS, and proximity/ambient light sensor. Here is a list of the specifications.
