Nokia C5 Endi Overview

Nokia C5 Endi is one of the three budget smartphones launched by HMD Global exclusively for Cricket Wireless. The other two models include the Nokia C2 Tava and Nokia C2 Tennen. Nokia C5 Endi came out in June 2020. It resembles the Nokia 5.3, as both cell phones have a similar design and display.

Nokia C5 Endi runs on Android 10 out of the box. With a 6.5-inch HD+ display, a triple camera setup, and a 2-day battery life, the C5 Endi packs more into one phone than its siblings. Instead of a quad-core processor like on the Nokia C2 Tava, the C5 Endi features a more powerful octa-core chipset. Let’s take a closer look at the device in our comprehensive Nokia C5 Endi review.

Nokia C5 Endi Unboxing

Nokia C5 Endi arrives in very similar packaging as the Nokia C2 Tava. A picture of the Android device with basic specs is on the back of the box. Opening the box unveils the quick start guide and SIM card. Underneath the SIM card is the Nokia C5 Endi smartphone, covered by a screen protector. It protects the device from getting accidental scratches on the screen. Below the device lies the charging adapter, USB Type-C cable, safety booklet, and SIM ejection pin.

Nokia C5 Endi Design

One thing you’ll notice about the Nokia C5 Endi is its similarity to the Nokia 5.3. On the front of the device is a 6.5-inch screen with a teardrop notch and slim bezels. A teardrop notch offers a bit more screen space, improving the viewing experience. Although it is a large phone, it does not feel much heavy at 7.05 oz. The top bezel hosts an earpiece and selfie camera, while the bottom bezel has the Nokia logo. With the 20:9 aspect ratio, you get a comfortable grip in the hands.

Nokia C5 Endi is only available in Midnight Blue color, which looks stunning. The circular camera panel on the back features three cameras with an LED flash, giving the device a premium appearance. The fingerprint sensor is housed right below the camera panel, and the Nokia logo is inscribed vertically in the middle. The silver-colored Cricket Logo is at the bottom.

The left side hosts the SIM tray and Google Assistant button. The microphone, USB Type-C charging port, and speaker are housed left to right on the bottom edge. The volume rocker button and power key are on the right edge. Plus, a 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the top edge. Buttons are well positioned and easily accessible.

Nokia C5 Endi Camera

With an exciting triple camera experience, you can capture every moment in remarkable detail. Nokia C5 Endi features the following cameras:

  • 13MP primary camera
  • 2MP depth sensor
  • 5MP ultra-wide camera

The primary camera captures excellent photos using AI. Under daylight conditions, images came out sharp and crisp with no significant noise. A 2MP depth sensor adds cool bokeh effects to your portrait photos. Portrait mode ensures that the focus is on the subject and the background is effectively blurred to pop all your images.

Every picture tells a story, and with the ultra-wide lens of the Nokia C5 Endi, you can tell even more than usual. Capture expansive views of landscapes, architecture, and more with the 5 MP ultra-wide camera. But, there may be more noise in images compared to the 13MP digital camera.

Taking a pic after sundown? Nokia claims the device takes multiple photos under dim lighting and combines them into one bright picture. The AI camera adjusts settings automatically to give you the best shot every time, ideal for those who aren’t experienced. Overall, the camera performance is decent at this price point.

Nokia C5 Endi Display

The device features a bright 6.5-inch HD+ display on the front. The high-resolution detail is great for streaming your favorite shows and movies. Similar to the Nokia 5.3, it has a 720 x 1600 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 269 PPI. Watching content on the screen was fun because of the large screen estate and slim bezels. Color accuracy was decent as it’s an IPS LCD.

Touching and swiping on the screen was fluid enough. The contrast ratio was fair, viewing angles were average, but for the price point, it’s good enough. We also didn’t face any significant issues using the mobile device under daylight at full brightness. Overall, the display does its job well, and we have no complaints.

Nokia C5 Endi Battery

According to Nokia, C5 Endi has a 4000mAh battery capacity, which can hold up to 2 full days of power. It eliminates the need to look for a charger or outlet constantly. The device learns which apps you use and prioritizes power to what is most important based on adaptive battery technology. After a day of use, we had over 45% battery life left, which is pretty decent. In our opinion, the battery life of the Nokia C5 Endi is great for users who are constantly busy and on the go.

Nokia C5 Endi Storage

Nokia C5 Endi has 64GB of internal storage, which is a lot of space to store thousands of your favorite songs, photos, videos, games, and documents. For those who need additional storage space, the Android phone also has a microSD card slot to further expand it up to 128GB. We believe 128GB is plenty of storage for power users who play many games, click many pictures and record HD videos. It is likely that 64GB will suffice for average users.

Nokia C5 Endi Performance

Instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon as on the Nokia 5.3, the C5 Endi is powered by a Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 octa-core processor. The octa-core processor is fast and powerful, ensuring everyday tasks run smoothly. With 3GB RAM, you can switch between apps and multitask efficiently. Gaming performance is also decent. However, we don’t recommend playing graphic-intensive games, but everything else runs fine.

The Android 10 operating system is pre-installed out-of-the-box and optimized to suit your lifestyle with many amazing features. It includes exceptional entertainment, great apps, and tools to help you stay connected. The user interface is easy-to-use, just like its sibling Nokia C2 Tava. However, it comes loaded with bloatware apps, but you can remove them.

The Nokia C5 Endi phone is 4G enabled, meaning you can access the internet on a high-speed mobile network. Call quality is good, as we didn’t face any dropped calls or major voice issues. In our opinion, the Nokia C5 Endi offers good performance at a reasonable price.

The HD+ display is also a prominent feature that makes it stand out among the competition. Brimming with helpful features, the Nokia C5 Endi gives you a smooth performance along with a triple camera setup that captures life in any way you want.
