Available exclusively from Verizon Wireless, the Nokia 2 V Tella is a low-budget smartphone. Nokia has recently launched several entry-level devices, including unlocked and carrier-specific models. The Nokia 2 V Tella is one of them and is targeted towards Verizon users with simple smartphone needs.
The inexpensive smartphone has a 5.45-inch display, quad-core processor, dual rear cameras and much more. It has been available since October 2020 and runs on Android 10 out of the box. Considering the low price and decent specs, it’s not a flagship killer but a simple smartphone. Regardless, Nokia’s reliability and a cleaner interface are a big plus. Let’s find out how the computing device fits into Nokia’s lineup in our comprehensive Nokia 2 V Tella review.
Nokia 2 V Tella arrives in a white box with a picture of the device on the front and Verizon branding in the top right corner. Primary specifications are listed at the bottom. The back of the box lists other specs and what’s inside the package. Opening the package reveals the user manual, product safety & warranty information, and important customer safety information. Below the guides, you find the Nokia 2 V Tella, covered by a transparent film and screen protector. Underneath the device lies the 10W charging adapter and USB Type-C cable. The removable battery is below the charging cable.

The Nokia 2 V has a durable design with a water-resistant outer shell. It features a 5.45-inch screen on the front with slim bezels on the top and bottom edge. Unlike the punch-hole or notch, the camera and earpiece are embedded into the top bezel. A Nokia logo is inscribed in the top-right. The bottom bezel is thicker than the top. It comes in a single color, Blue, which looks classy.
The cell phone easily fits in the hands, and the textured back provides a solid grip. The phone won’t slip easily, even if your hands are wet. Despite its affordable price tag, the device has a premium appearance thanks to the striped texture. The back also hosts a dual camera with an LED flash on the vertical camera panel. The Nokia logo is vertically imprinted in the middle, while the Verizon branding is at the bottom. Left of the Verizon branding is the speaker cutout.
The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge of the device. A dedicated Google Assistant button is on the left edge. The bottom edge hosts the USB-Type C port and microphone. A 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the top edge.
The Nokia 2 V Tella camera is one of the most affordable dual rear camera cell phones on the Nokia lineup. It features the following cameras:
You can take crisp photos with the dual rear cameras. The primary camera performed well under broad daylight. Color reproduction was decent, and the camera captured good details. It has auto-focus that helps take clearer photos. The AI capabilities further improve the overall quality of the images according to lighting conditions.
You also get portrait mode and time-lapse in the camera app. Using portrait mode will blur the background while preserving the sharpness of your subject. The 5MP front camera is great for taking selfies for social networking accounts or making video calls to loved ones. The rear camera can record 1080p video at 30fps, whereas the selfie camera can record 720p at 30fps. After taking a picture, you can also use the pre-installed Google Photos app to adjust the background. So the camera of the Nokia 2 V Tella is worthwhile and gets the job done.
The 5.45-inch HD+ display offers a great viewing experience for your favorite shows. It has a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels, which is ideal for streaming videos and playing games. Because of the 18:9 aspect ratio, the display is taller, and the bezels are less noticeable. We didn’t encounter any major issues while using YouTube or Netflix. We enjoyed playing games such as Candy Crush or Temple Run as well as reading books. Additionally, the display is smooth to the touch and responds quickly to your commands. The pixel density of the display is 295 PPI. Overall, you should not have any problems with the display.
Be ready for your day ahead with the Nokia 2 V Tella. According to Nokia, the 3000 mAh battery capacity of the mobile phone can last for two days to keep up with your busy schedule. The intelligent battery learns your power needs and adapts, so you can play games, watch videos, and listen to your favorite music for longer. We had a little over 40% battery left on average usage, and it was about 30% on heavy usage. The removable battery also enables you to keep an extra one on hand for emergency purposes.
Nokia’s 2 V Tella has 16GB of internal storage, further expandable to 128GB with a microSD card. The 16GB storage space is adequate for users who use basic apps and occasionally click photos or capture videos. However, if you prefer to download heavy games, apps or capture photos and videos regularly, we recommend using a microSD card. In our opinion, 128GB is sufficient for most power users.
Striking a balance between features and usability, the Nokia 2 V Tella promises a better experience with Android 10. Features include a dark theme that’s easy on your eyes, a focus mode that limits distractions, and the ability to keep track of your kid’s progress as they learn and play. A quad-core Mediatek MT6761 processor and 2GB of RAM offer decent performance for basic tasks.
You also get Face Unlock with the device, and it even works in low-light situations. For more security, you can set up a password or PIN lock. The dedicated Google Assistant button is a big plus for launching apps, sending texts, making calls, and playing music quickly. The user interface is smooth and clean, with some Verizon branded apps that you may find useful. Nokia’s interface gives it an edge over other competitors.
The mobile network was robust most of the time. We didn’t face any issues while calling, texting, web browsing, or playing light games. You can stay in touch with friends and family via WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook. Given its price point, the device fulfills its purpose.
The Nokia 2 V Tella is an entry-level smartphone designed for customers seeking something inexpensive yet with decent specs. It’s a compact, affordable smartphone with an HD screen so you can see more. Similar to other Nokia smartphones, it has software features that help you focus on work and family. With Android 10 on board, your Nokia phone can help in innovative ways, like taking full advantage of Google services to control smart appliances at home. It is simple enough to gift to your kids or grandparents, and powerful enough to keep up with everyday tasks.
