Motorola Moto G Fast is another budget smartphone from the Moto G family, and is available at a super affordable price. The Moto G Fast provides a near-stock Android experience, making it easy and fun to use. From exciting innovations to a smoother operating system, the Moto G Fast is up-to-date with all the latest technologies. It comes loaded with useful features for organizing your life, capturing memories, entertainment, and much more.
The phone sits right between the Moto E and the Moto G Power. It gets some major upgrades over the Moto E, which is another inexpensive smartphone from Motorola. On the other hand, Moto G Power costs a bit more than Moto G Fast.
The Moto G Fast is better optimized for a quicker response to every tap, touch, and swipe than its siblings. It features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor as the Moto G Power. The device has a rear triple camera setup, which is amazing considering it’s surprisingly affordable price point. Let’s dive deep into the Motorola Moto G Fast review.
The device arrives in a beautiful black box with Motorola’s cool logo inscribed on it and Moto G Fast smartphone branding at the bottom. The packaging is very similar to the Moto E. The back of the box lists what’s inside the package. Opening the box exposes the Pearl White back of the device with the rear triple camera system.
A transparent screen protector engulfs the device from all sides to protect it from any accidental scratches. Under the cell phone lie the product guides and SIM card ejection tool. The 10W fast charger and USB Type-C cable rest underneath the product guides.

The Moto G Fast has a similar design as the Moto G Stylus, but it comes in a single color: Pearl White. It feels good in the hand and helps differentiate the device from its siblings. The large 6.4-inch HD+ display and curved edges give the device a more attractive appearance. The curved edges also make it easier to grasp and use with just one hand. Instead of a notch, the smartphone features a punch-hole selfie camera to increase the screen real-estate for a better viewing experience.
The phone has a structurally solid build with a glossy finish on the back. The rear of the device does not attract fingerprints. It is water-repellent, so little spills, splashes, or sweat won’t bother the phone. The three rear cameras and LED flash are located near the top left edge. The fingerprint reader is centered on the back, underneath the Motorola logo.
On the top edge, you get the headphone jack and microphone. The volume rocker button and a textured power button are on the right edge. The bottom edge houses the second microphone, charging port, and speaker from left to right. On the left edge, you get to see the SIM card tray.
Designed to fit into your everyday life, the Moto G Fast has a camera for every shot you would want to take. The camera setup is identical to that of the Moto G Power. The device features the following four cameras:
The 16MP main camera lets you click high-quality pictures, and shoot in various modes and capture moments you wouldn’t want to miss. The ultra-wide-lens fits 4x more detail in your frame compared to a standard Android smartphone. Cover more of the beautiful sights or take group photos with more friends. Use the macro camera to get 5x closer to your subject and capture shots like a pro.
The images clicked with the camera are sharp and clear with less noise. It performed fairly well under good lighting conditions. The AI improved the overall quality of the images taken. Portrait mode uses AI to add a beautiful blur effect to the background and better lighting on the face. With the Auto-Smile capture feature, the smartphone automatically clicks photos when everyone is smiling.
Best of all? This budget phone can shoot 4K videos! It means that you can capture every moment in great detail. Overall, we are satisfied with the decent camera performance of the device. You get maximum features at a minimal price.
Immerse yourself in the big screen and bright colors of the 6.4-inch HD+ notch-free display that Motorola calls Max Vision. The display has a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is designed to show and fit in more content with no interruptions. Viewing angles are good, and you can clearly see the content on the screen. The display gets bright enough so that you can see the screen clearly even under direct sunlight.
The HD+ display delivers an engaging entertainment experience for your favorite movies, shows, and games. The fast display reacts quickly to touch, making it easy to tap and scroll through apps. Overall, the display performance is on par with other low-cost budget Android smartphones in the market.
Stay connected and productive at home, work, or on the road with a long-lasting 4000mAh smartphone battery. Motorola claims 2 days of battery life on a single charge. After a full day of use, we still had over 50% of juice left in the phone.
Moreover, the 10W rapid charger bundled with the phone gives hours of battery life within minutes of charging. This phone is ideal for you if you travel a lot or consume more power with demanding tasks like longer gaming sessions.
This Motorola device comes with 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card. If you mainly use your phone for simple tasks and don’t download unnecessary apps, 32GB should do the trick for you. Otherwise, you can always use an SD card to store more of your favorite music, movies, TV shows, and photos.
Motorola Moto G fast features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and 3GB RAM. We were impressed to see that Moto G Fast comes with a powerful processor at a rock-bottom price point. The Snapdragon 665 processor delivers fast, responsive experiences for great mobile gaming and brilliant camera capabilities.
It supports both energy efficiency and long battery life, so you won’t lose much juice with demanding tasks. The fast-paced processor allows seamless switching between apps and smooth streaming of content. Motorola Moto G Fast is powerful enough to handle graphics-intensive games over long periods of time. We didn’t experience any major lags or thermal throttling with the smartphone.
This device supports some great features exclusive to Motorola mobile devices. We loved using gestures to quickly launch apps or turn on the LED flash with a flick of the wrist or hand movements. Gestures cut down on your efforts to provide a better phone experience. If you’re a pro gamer, you’ll love the Moto Gametime feature. It lets you instantly access tools to block notifications, calls, adjust brightness or change display settings.
The device also comes with the Google Lens app that gives you the power to explore and interact with the world around you in new ways. Just fire up your camera and Google Lens will recognize what you’re looking at and give you relevant results from the web right on your screen.
In our opinion, the smartphone performed according to our expectations. If you want a device with decent performance without spending a lot of money, look no further than the Moto G Fast.
