Overview

LG 238C is a feature phone with all basic functionalities you need in a phone. It comes running the LG proprietary operating system which has minimum complications hence very easy to learn. The LG 238C integrates well with Straight Talk offering great call quality and clear reception even in rural settings. The LG 238C is a CDMA phone that will work with Verizon, so, before ordering, be sure to check that you have Verizon cell towers or coverage near your home area. Some notable features about the LG 238C are 3G connectivity and its low-price tag. Let’s find out more as we go along in this review.

Design

The LG 238C is a basic flip phone with a 2.2-inch screen. On the flip, it has a 1.3MP camera, a small LCD screen that shows the time and the speaker of the phone.  The camera button for taking pictures is on the right edge. On the left edge, it has the headset jack, volume keys and the charging port. When you open the flip, you will be greeted with a 2.2-inch color display and an alphanumeric keypad. The earpiece is on the upper part of the display. That sums up everything on the exterior layout of the phone.

Battery

The battery capacity on the LG 238C is 950mAh. It gives you a talk time of up to 2 hours and a standby time of up to 7 days. The battery is not fixed, so you can always have a spare battery in case your primary battery runs out.

Performance

LG 238C comes running the proprietary LG Operating System that has a quick learning curve with no complication getting in the way. It’s powered by a Qualcomm 6055 ARM C processor at a speed of 192MHz paired with 128MB of RAM. It comes installed with the necessary applications to get the job done, which in most cases, is all you need. You can add up to 500 contacts in its phonebook which I found to be a great thing. The phone has an FM Radio so you can tune into your favorite channels on the go.

The keypad layout is easy to use, and once you’ve mastered it, you can even operate the phone without looking at it. The phone is also internet enabled with 3G speed technology so browsing a few pages on the Internet is a breeze. The menus and some functionalities in the phone have read out options to guide you through your tasks. You can also set up voice commands to perform some functions like call a contact in your phone book which I found to be a major selling point of the LG 238C.
